Tarte’s Tres Chic Contouring Palette | Review

Tarte Tres Chic Contouring Palette

I don’t know about you, but contouring has always been something that has mystified me. I don’t think I have the time, understanding or products to draw tiger stripes all over my face and transform into a sculpted Goddess, so when I saw the Tres Chic Contouring Palette on QVCUK and how quick and easy it looked to contour, I thought I would give it a go. After all, they have a 30 day money back guarantee, which means it’s at least worth a try.

So I’ve had this little palette for a couple of months now and I don’t want to be without it. This is contouring that I can get on board with and it’s so easy. In the palette you get:

Amazonian Clay Matte Bronzer in Park Ave Princess

Amazonian Clay Blush in Glisten

Amazonian Clay Highlighter in Champagne

So what you are getting is a surprisingly versatile bronzer that works on a variety of skin tones, a beautiful peachy-pink blush and  a lovely highlighter. I almost forgot to mention that you get a double – ended brush that practically does all of the work for you. The smaller tapered end is great for application and for achieving those chiseled cheek bones and the bigger brush is great for blending the bronzer and softening any harsh lines. I’m quite fair and when I first applied the bronzer into the hollows of my cheeks I thought I had made a huge mistake, but the bigger brush was great at buffing the bronzer into my skin and it leaves me with a more natural contour. It’s up to you how intense or defined you want to make your cheeks and for a more obvious contour look, I just don’t blend it as much.

I love to use the highlighter on my cheeks, brow bone, cupid’s bow, nose and any other areas I think need highlighting and the blush just adds a lovely pop of colour. My only criticism would be that I wish the blush and highlighter were full size.

So if you are thinking of of giving contouring a try or are looking for a new bronzer/blush/highlighter, you might want to give this a go. I’ve tried a few products from Tarte recently and I think this really is a great brand and definitely one I want to try more of. I really like how they try and include great quality tools like this brush.

  • This is SO pretty! I really want to buy a whole bunch of Tarte and give it a try, I’ve had my eye on a set on QVC since Xmas and I’m just hoping it goes into a sale eventually! I know how you feel about contouring, I go in so lightly that you probably can’t even tell it’s there but I’m terrified I’ll end up looking like a tribal warrior!
