As you can probably tell from the big smiley face featured, I have been doing pretty well recently and I thought I would do a quick update.
The good news is I am 1 stone lighter! Who am I kidding? This is great news for me. In my last health update post I talked about joining Weight Watchers to help me with my weight loss. Since January I would say I have loosely followed the plan. This might sound a bit weird and a bit of a turn around, but I have found that it still works for me if I combine it with exercise. Some days I will track everything I eat and not go over and other days I will track and maybe go over, but not worry about it too much. Or I won’t track at all, but still be mindful of what I am eating. I honestly think this only works this way because I have been exercising and there is that little niggle of thought that says; “What would your weight be if you were really strict, didn’t go over and tracked everything?”. I bet Weight Watchers would tell me that it would be better, but right now I don’t care. I’m eating healthier than I ever have, I’m introducing more foods into my diet, exercising at least 4 times a week, losing weight and best of all I feel great.
One thing that I did change about my diet in the last couple of weeks was breakfast. I started switching my usual poached egg on crumpets for smoothies. I mentioned in a previous post that I loved my Nutri Ninja and I think it has really helped me get my 5 a day and introduce more fruit & veg into my diet. I was the kid that had to mix her carrots into her mash and even now I don’t really do the green stuff. With the Nurti Ninja I can stick some; Spinach, celery, kale and beetroot (how I hate this stuff out of a smoothie glass) into my smoothies and not really taste them. I have a smoothie for breakfast, try to keep lunch light and have a satisfying dinner. This seems to work for me.
So that is about it. I do want to share updates on this topic more often and I can’t wait to see where I am next month. If you think that Peanut Butter & Banana smoothie looks yummy, then check out my recipe post here; Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie Recipe
