I immediately purchased this palette in the Illamasqua sale back in February after Music and Eyeliner showed me hers on the train to London. It was quite a frantic purchase as I was on the train and my signal and wifi kept dropping. I feel like this palette was made for me as it contains all the colours I usually gravitate towards. Having said that, it took me a while to actually use it. I put it in my makeup cabinet and completely forgot about it.

Back in March I went to Dublin with my boyfriend and because we were flying on a budget and restricted to cabin luggage, I was quite stuck for room in my case and couldn’t justify taking my huge makeup bag. So I settled for taking this palette along with my Bare Minerals foundation, mascara and  a few essential brushes. I don’t think I have ever travelled with so little makeup.

I am so glad I did, because this sleek palette is absolutely perfect for travelling and contains some great products from Illamasqua:

  • Gleam in Mirage – A lovely highlighter
  • Cream pigment in Hollow- Great for contouring
  • Eyebrow Cake in Thunder- Not as overpowering as it looks in the palette once you get this on your brows
  • Powder Blusher in Hussy – What a name for a blusher. This is a beautiful colour and I think I used it on my cheeks for 2 months straight after discovering it.
  • 4 powder eyeshadows-  These shadows are perfect for day and night and the shadow in the bottom right corner of the palette doubles as an eyeliner.
  • Double ended brush for eyes and brows – I still took my own brushes, but this brush is very handy for your brows and eyes.

Getting this palette certainly saved me a lot of room when I was travelling and I found I could create so many looks with it. I was lucky to get this in the sale for £13.50, but you can still get it for £22.50 here. I still think for what you get that this palette is a bargain.
