Christmas Gift Guide | Fragrance Edition

Fragrance Christmas Gift Guide

Today’s gift guide is all about fragrances and like I said in my last gift guide, everything I feature is something I would personally like to unwrap on Christmas morning. Also, don’t you think fragrance is such a personal choice? Unless someone actually tells you the fragrance they like, buying someone perfume as a gift – is risky business. I narrowed my favourite scents down to 5 and I think you could say most of them are quite similar and my selection shows that I favour sweeter scents. One thing you might notice is that I’m not featuring any gift sets in the guide and that is because I feel like they are wasted on me. I’m not really a fan of the body lotions included and they usually end up in the bin or in a drawer. So, lets just use the extra money you would pay for a set and go up to the next bottle size shall we?

KAREN WALKER EAU DE PARFUM ‘B’ Price £65.00 50ml

I discovered this fragrance back in May/June of this year, when I was invited to Harvey Nichols for the launch of Karen Walker’s fragrance collection. The collection is made up of 3 very different scents and all of them appealed to me, but scent ‘B’ was my favourite and a fragrance I have been lusting after since I smelled it. It’s such a feminine scent and has a very sweet almost candy smell to it. Like I said at the start of this post, I’m not much of a fan of fragrance gift sets, but Harvey Nichols are doing a lovely gift set right now with a very pretty bracelet.

If I had to pick a favourite fragrance, it would have to be Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb. I just love how floral and sweet it smells. Quite a few of the scents I have picked for the guide, are very reminiscent of this one. There are some great fragrance deals in-store and online at the moment and prices for this fragrance start from £45.00 for a 30ml bottle.

This is another scent that reminds me so much of the first two in my guide and I was quite sad when the bottle I managed to pickup in last year’s boxing day sales ran out last week. So if I find this under the tree this year, I will be very happy.

I knew I was going to love this perfume before I even smelled it. After all, it’s creator gave us Flowerbomb and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. I have a habit of gravitating towards fragrances with pretty bottles and for once the scent is as delightful as the bottle. It would look great on my dressing table, hint hint.

I’ve saved my most desired fragrance for last and sadly it’s a little on the pricey side. For a blogger I’m quite late to the world of Jo Malone, but I spent a little time at one of their counters on black Friday (surprisingly, this was one of the quieter counters in the beauty hall) and after smelling more than 20 scents, I came across Velvet Rose & Oud and fell in love with the scent immediately. I would love to open any of these fragrances on Christmas morning, but this one from Jo Malone is so different to any other fragrance I’ve owned and it feels that extra bit special.

Have I picked out any fragrances that are on your list?

  • I really need a new fragrance, I’ve been switching between the same two for a few years now, maybe it’s about time I switched it up a little! I’m too terrified to go near the Jo Malone counter alone, I don’t know if I could hold myself back and leave empty handed!
