Sunday Brunch | Dock 29

Since getting married going for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday is my new favourite thing to do. Harry is at work and it gives me a chance to catch up with friends and have a nice few hours out and about that usually include unsupervised visits to Homesense. It’s my mission to visit as many great places in Leeds as possible for breakfast/lunch/ brunch and today I’m kicking my little mini series off with Dock 29.

To be honest, I’d never heard of this place until my old pal Lize aka Glasses Girl suggested we give it a try when we arranged to meet for breakfast the other week (she picks the best places). It’s situated close to the Royal Armouries, a little out of the way if you usually stick closer to the centre of Leeds, but it did make for a nice change of scene.

We both ordered the Breakfast Of Champions, don’t judge us, we were were hungry and yes it tastes as good as it looks. For £8.50 you get an awesome plate of food; Sausage, bacon, tomato, mushrooms, 2 x eggs, beans, black pudding, fried potatoes & toast. I’m not a mushroom fan so I asked for them to be left off the plate. It’s served with tea, coffee or juice.

Tea was the obvious choice for me and I was delighted that it came with a bourbon biscuit on the side and the milk came in a cute little bottle. I can appreciate my breakfast choice isn’t Vegetarian friendly, but they do offer this with a vegetarian alternative and if this doesn’t tickle your fancy, there are some great dishes on the menu.

Overall the price was great, the food was delicious and it was a nice place to catch up with a friend. Have you tried Dock 29?
