It’s been a very hot week and I honestly wouldn’t have realised had it not been for Twitter and Facebook. I don’t want to be a moaning Myrtle and moan about the lovely weather, but I do have to admit I have struggled with the heat at work. By the time I get home all I want to do is have a cold shower, eat my weight in ice cream and have a cold drink. I had a lot of frozen fruit in the freezer, so I decided to try and make an icy smoothie to help cool me down.
- 4/5 Frozen strawberries
- 1 handful of frozen mango (I say handful, I buy the frozen chunks from Costco)
- 1 Handful of Frozen pineapple chunks (Again I get this from Costco)
- 1 glass of diluted Orange squash (I use the No Added Sugar Robinsons)
- A blender
All you need to do is pop the fruit into the jug/cup and if like me you use a Nutri Ninja or something similar like a bullet, add the squash to the fill line and blend. I blend for about 30 seconds. It should end up quite thick and slushy. In this heat it doesn’t take long to melt a little, so don’t worry if it looks too thick. You can try different fruit combos and squash flavours and If you don’t have any frozen fruit, just add ice.
Look how colourful it turns out. It’s so refreshing and tastes delicious.
