I am all about flowers lately and it appears that everyone else is too. Events are being held and having a browse on bloglovin I noticed other bloggers are working them into their pics and YouTubers are surrounding themselves with lovely flowers in their videos. I can’t wait around for others to buy me flowers and brighten up my day(well,I could but how long would I be waiting?), so I decided to take matters into my own hands and buy my own little bunch every week. I’m not talking about spending a fortune on big bouquets of flowers, my budget is actually £2.00 per week max. A quick lunch time trip to my local Morrisons got me the bunch below for £1.75 and I got the tulips for 95p from my local fruit and veg stall.
I was recently asked if I would like to attend the ’Girlfriends know each other’s favourite flower’ event held at the Social Flower Shop in London and hosted by Funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk. Sadly due to the distance and notice period I could not attend. The event would give attendees an insight into what flowers are trending for spring and give the opportunity to try; flower arranging, hand-tying bouquets, decorating cupcakes, learn more about flowers and discover what your friends favourite flower is. You would also get to learn how to incorporate flowers into your own look. Not to mention the chance to take your BFF along with you.
Now, I have always wanted to learn flower arranging and I was super bummed that I couldn’t attend. My flower arranging skills consist of filling a vase with water and dumping the flowers in the vase, so I really felt I could have benefited from this. As for decorating cupcakes, which I presume I would then get to eat, sounds like a good time to me. I do fancy myself as a young Mary Berry and would have loved to improve my cake decorating skills.
Anyway, it sounded like a fab event and I thought I would share some lovely pictures kindly provided by Cow pr and Funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk. There were so many to choose from, but these ones just stood out for me.
Saving the best pic for last…
I like to think that we are all friends here, so why don’t you tell me what your favourite flower is and why? I will go first and tell you that my all time favourite flowers are Lilly’s closely followed by fuzzy daisies.
