Every now and again a brand email lands in your inbox that has your imagination and tastebuds running wild. Smith & Sinclair have opened a pop-up shop on the central bridge in Trinity Leeds and I was invited to their VIP launch event to sample alcoholic gummies, edible perfumes and cocktails.

For someone like me who enjoys a sweet cocktail, the idea of combining a jelly sweet with alcohol is a genius and delicious idea. On one side of their pop-up shop you will find a station of different flavoured gummies, very reminiscent of a pick ‘n’ mix, where you can buy a pre-boxed selection or create your own box of eight gummies that are tailored to your own individual tastes.

As a ‘thank you’ for attending the event, I was given the opportunity to create my own box of gummies. I picked Berry Daiquri, Passionfruit Mojito, Elderflower Gin Spritz, Cherry & Hibiscus(gin) and Amaretto Sour. There are other flavours available, but these are the ones that appealed the most to me.

After trying these at home I am pleased to report that they are delicious, they do taste as described and you do really taste the alcohol. Each gummie has half a shot of alcohol in it and to give you an idea of where you stand, five of these will take you over the drink drive limit. In my opinion, these aren’t supposed to be eaten all in one go with the agenda to get drunk, but to be enjoyed as a treat to tickle your taste buds.

It’s not just gummies available, on the other side of the shop you will find a wall of they edible perfumes that are available in 3 scents; Watermelon & Citrus, Cherry Blossom & Mandarin and Pear & Vanilla. As you can probably guess, they do indeed contain alcohol.

An Edible Fragrance, blended just like a perfume, with layered floral & fruity notes. Spritz this scent over your favourite tipple for a mind-blowing flavour boost or apply ‘for wear’ on the skin – and get it licked right off.

Whilst I’m yet to spritz myself and request that Harry licks it right off, I have had a taste of all 3 scents and even though they all smell and taste great, Watermelon & Citrus is by far my favourite. It can also be used in a diffuser if you would prefer to use it as a home fragrance.

I think the edible fragrance would make a great cheeky present for your significant other and the box of gummies will make a perfect birthday or Christmas gift. Christmas is coming people and it’s time to shop!

If you are shopping in Leeds in the run up to Christmas, I do recommend that you check them out.
